Goals and Purpose: To help serve the liturgical needs of the parish at Mass

Responsibilities: Preparing the altar for Mass; various sacramental articles; sacred vessels for communion; candles; as well as sound/lights before and after Mass; cleaning of sacred vessels 

Helpful Attributes: Devotion and understanding of the Liturgy of the Eucharist is essential.  At least 1 year experience serving as an EM. Desire to learn about sacred articles, vessels associated with the sacraments and their use, care and storage of these in our church. 

Time Commitment: Varies; dependent on parish need.  Needs to arrive at least 30 minutes before start of Mass and can expect 10-15 minutes of post Mass responsibilities.

Training Required: On-the-job training by observation and assisting other sacristans. Additional training provided as needed.
